Neopets' moods vary just like real-life pets' moods. They can be happy, sad, hungry, or delighted. Different pets have unique characteristics. Users can also "train" their pets at the Training School on Mystery Island or the Swashbuckling Academy on Krawk Island. To pay for a course, have to pay "codestones" to the training master. The codestones will be taken from the user and the Neopet will then be able to finish its course. However, at times, the training schools might feel generous and give away free training courses.

These species can only be created at special occasion. Further more, Grundo and Krawk are Restricted Neopets. They can only be created through special methods. However, they can be created at any time.
