Pteri are birds that originally belong to the world of Tyrannia. They are fond of getting into mischief and exploring new places. More than 2 million Pteris have been created, placing them 30th of 54 Neopets in popularity. They are featured in 85 items and come in 32 different colors.

Clutch Billaban is a Pteri playing as goalkeeper on the Roo Island team. He is one of the toughest goalkeepers in the league. However, he is also error prone, which can result in him making some blunders. His team then has to pay a heavy price for his mistakes. The Down for Maintenance Pteri is a Pteri which appears when a user tries to access the website while The Neopets Team is updating it. However, it causes a lot of annoyance whenever users are faced with this Pteri.

The Black Pteri is a black crow-like Pteri. This Pteri fights in the Neopets battledome and is generally considered quite tough. This Pteri also takes part in the game Pterattack 2. Here, users have to fly through Tyrannia, taking out the evil Pterodactyls and stopping the invaders from destroying the homes. There are 4 power up weapons available, and each weapon can be upgraded many times.
