Koi

Kois are friendly, fun-loving pets. They are a kind of fish that belong to the city of Maraqua. However, their city has been mysteriously destroyed, so Kois have a lot of sympathy from the users. Neopian citizens have been adopting these Neopets. In return, Kois help around the house and make new inventions like the Utility Fish, which is a unique type household helper. Kois are always up to some mischief and are a much-loved species of Neopets.

King Kelpbeard is the king of New Maraqua. King Kelpbeard conducts the rebuilding of the city in a secret location after it was destroyed in "The Curse of Marqaua" plot. Unfortunately, Captain Scarblade got to know of the secret location and attacked the city. King Kelpbeard and his army were able to defend the new city and were able to force back the attack from Captain Scarblade. King Kelpbeard is much respected for his wisdom and efforts to protect the citizens.

Tonie is a Koi who plays as goalkeeper on the Maraqua team during the 2006 Altador Cup. This Koi is so large that he's able to block the goal just by standing in front of it. However, a clever opponent can trick him out of his position and get past him to score a goal. In such situations, Tonie looks downright clumsy.
