Chia

The Chia is a lovable pet who is full of energy. Chias love making new friends and exploring new places. Chias are available in a number of "flavors", that look like fruits and vegetables. The chia was one of the first neopet ever made. They are quite popular because of their fruity appearance and joyful nature.

Chelo Binay is one of the Chias who plays in 2006's Altador Cup, and is a Centre Defender for the Haunted Woods team. This member serves as a mentor to Vitor and Dirx, the team's young star defenders. Chelo is well known for his strategic thinking and moves when on the field. Another popular Chia is the Chia Clown. The Clown fights opponents in the Battledome. He has a weapon assortment comprising the Downsize Power Plus, which blocks all damage for one turn. Some of the Clown's comments are quite hilarious.

The Chia world also includes a Mutant Chia called Florg. He is a product of one of Dr. Frank Sloth's evil experiments. Dr Sloth is an evil scientist bent on the destruction of Neopets and Neopia. After the Space Faerie destroyed his mass mutation ray in the Arrival of Virtupets plot Sloth went into hiding. He distributes Transmogrification Potions, which change a neopet into a mutated version.

The Jelly Chia was the result of an experiment by a confectioner named Wizzle. Jelly Chia bounces around looking for new play things. He was responsible for dissolving Wizzle when he was hungry; Wizzle's screams can be heard to this day in Neopia.
