Acara

The Acara is one of the many species in Neopia. It is a four-legged pet and is known for its excellent swimming abilities. Acaras are amphibious and their fur keeps them warm when they dive in the water. They were first introduced on the Neopets website in 2000. The first Acara was called the Tigren.

Acaras come in a number of shapes and sizes. In order to own the more unusual Acaras, players need to find a magical paint brush or potion. There are many pieces of Acara merchandise available including plushies, notebooks, and toys. The Neopets Trading Card Game also features many Acaras.

The Acaras, like other pets in the Neopets world, have undergone some changes over the years. Visual alterations have been made to make these pets more appealing. In 2000, the Acara's pupils and eye-whites were inverted, to give the modern blue pupil and white surround. Also, the twin horns were developed from hair tufts and the paws developed distinct three toes.

There is a plethora of merchandise that is sold under the Acara name. These include Acara books, Acara toys, Acara video games, and Acara battle items. Players can also download Acara screensavers and wallpapers. Three more Acara Abilities have been added recently to the Battledome - the level 1 Acara Dunk, level 5 Acara Squirt and level 10 Acara Tsunami
